The theme of the years competition was to celebrate the legacy of 2012 by creating a garment that combines elements from Britain’s great design heritage with their own vision of being British today.

My design was based on Queen Boadicea who was a great Warrior Queen who led an uprising against the Roman Empire. The first stage of the competition was to make a toile of the garment, then in the finals, we had to make the final garment as shown above. Everything was hand made, the garment had a very intricate structure which was described as 'a feat of engineering' by the judges as the design used the weight of the material to open up a laser cut section on the bodice, whilst the

asymmetric skirt section defied gravity with the use of supporting structure and physics.
